The whole picturisation seemed like a fairy tale especially the scenes between the leads, their chemistry is amazing and I can’t wait for there story to begin. I loved the OST as well as the aesthetic. Because there is a lingering feeling about the authenticity of everything that Kyung achieves after becoming pretty by make up. The way Kyung was treated when she was ugly and the stark difference she feels when she becomes pretty is both interesting and hurtful. The whole facet of world being different for pretty people and ugly people was fascinating. And to reiterate if you are doing that and treating someone like that you are completely and totally wrong. The best way for most of the students in this situation to cope with all the pressure is to dump all the insults on one singular person, no matter how they feel about it. If one person is getting cornered chances are everyone will corner them, no matter how they feel about it. One of the things that I liked about the show, is how they depicted the social structure of High School. He is carrying the burden of his past and is extremely pained by it. There is nothing of depth that has come out of his character till now. The male lead, Lee Su-Ho at least in this episode is the typical South Korean hero, he saves the girl and is extremely handsome as well as broody. The two characters that are established in this episode are Im Ju-kyung and Lee Su- Ho. Before I proceed I need to specify if there is any girl who feels like this, and I know there are, know this that the people treating you like this are horrible, they are the ones who are unworthy and undeserving. Her character is extremely root worthy and everyone who teases her or insults her seem like complete trash to me. She is brilliant in every scene and owns this character to the fullest. Moon Ga- Young did a phenomenal job from expressing Kyung’s pain to her delight in enjoying small things like getting invited to chat rooms. I never thought I would hate Squid fairy, but he got on my nerves. Its a trigger and they showed it in the most ‘tasteful’ way possible. Not because they were bad but because personally I don’t like seeing people get bullied and humiliated. Coming to those scenes, it was mainly because of them that it took me a long time to complete the first episode.
The lengths to which Im Ju-kyung goes to hide her face seems justified due to everything she goes through in the first part of the episode.
I feel that this episode did all of this in an amazing manner.

The first episode of the series should aim to establish the plot and make us really feel for these characters. When she masters the art just before transferring to her new school, her makeover proves to be transformative as she quickly rises to fame and her peers call her a “goddess.“

She starts learning how to use makeup by binge-watching tutorial videos in the Internet. It is needless to say I have high expectations.ġ8-year-old high school student Im Ju-kyung ( Moon Ga-young), who has an inferiority complex regarding her appearance, has been constantly discriminated by her family and bullied by her peers because of being perceived as ugly. There are so many people involved in this drama that I am such a huge fan of, such as Cha-Eun Woo (My ID is Gangnam Beauty), Moon-Ga Young(Tempted) and the team of Extraordinary You.
It would be an understatement to say that I was eagerly waiting for this drama. Today I am going to jump into this new drama, True Beauty.
